Caution - California Battered By Massive Waves

California is getting battered by massive waves this week... For some it's the biggest they have seen in the last 15 years. For others like Kelly Slater it was an opportunity to get some waves in places he had never surfed before. What ever the case may be for you, stay safe and watch out for each other... Check it out:

What people are calling the "50 YEAR STORM" hit Surfer's Point in Ventura!

Torrential rainfall hit Southern California Thursday morning as a “bomb cyclone” delivered as expected. Rain totals exceeded 2 inches in some areas of Los Angeles County by mid-morning with higher totals in the mountains and coastal valleys of Ventura County. The National Weather Service said the storm produced up to 1.25 inches of rain per hour in some locations.

Just a day after a high surf warning was implemented for beaches along the Southern California coast, in the wake of a huge storm, strong waves returned to Redondo Beach, creating flooding concerns for many. Lauren Pozen reports.

The Seal Beach Pier was closed by the city Friday due to damage sustained during this week's storm and associated high surf and wind.

We have a massive swell hitting California right now and surf forecasters are calling it the biggest in decades for the state. This was filmed out at Blacks Beach where it was 15-18 feet!

Time Traveling to Wild Australia

Sometimes I wish I could time travel and go surf a spot back when it looked more like this... Check it out:

I did this a long while ago with Sean Doherty talking about some of the history I filmed back in early my years. Starting off with Bells 81 when I got my first professional gig shooting the Bells Rip Curl Pro & the Coke Surfabout at Narrabeen where Simon Anderson dominated & Dee Why Point when this kid from South Africa Martin Potter beat Mark Richards. It also features vision from the Beaurepairs competition at Sydneys Cronulla Beach with Tom Curren and a very young Mark Occhilupo. There's footage from the Stubbies, the 1983 SWELL from North Narrabeen with Tom Carroll ruling. Then to Merewether Newcastle where its good as it gets. The edit includes the definitive heat with Occy verse Curren at Bells, maybe one of the greatest heats in the ASP history. Then the Bells SKINS event where Occy won big $$$ and a car. Then we move in the future like 15/20 years ago when aerial surfing become the deal. We see Dean Morrison absolutely dominate Kirra. Kelly Slater with hair ripping Bells & Tom Carroll at the Opera House. Then moving back into the future with this new spot called Shipstern Bluff with a young Koby Abberton, Marty Paradisis and Mark Mathews. Then Michael Lowe at Mini Pipe then Slater at Deadmans in Sydney. Finishing up with some old home movie footage from my beginning in 1979/80 from my home town area of Yorke Peninsula. Enjoy.

Ferry Surfing in New Jersey or Surfing Keramas in Bali?

Which spot would you like to surf New Jersey Or Bali? Check it out:

Surfin Moose - @surfinmoose9682 Arrested is a heavy word. Technically Moose wasn't arrested, he was detained, but either way this entire situation is definitely something to observe. I paid a few tens of thousands of dollars in taxes to the State of New Jersey last year & if this is what they're doing with the money I may be showing up to a few town meetings after this. Moose is a 17 year old kid innocently trying to catch a wave, to think they needed to have 3 grown adult police detain him to question him about something's that pretty obvious, was ridiculous. I have respect for people who choose to protect our communities for a living, but there's a lot more to protect than stopping Moose from catching a Ferry Wave. I'm going to look into it more, but please help with any ideas on whether or not what these men said was actually law. Thank you & Happy New Year FOR THE DREAM!!! - Ben Follow Us on Instagram: @bengravyy @jverni_

It was another small day of waves at Keramas, and even though there weren’t a lot of barrel opportunities, there were plenty of walls to rip into. There was just the right amount of power and pace in these waves to really lean into a turn. It might not be classic Keramas, but it was plenty fun. 0:00 Intro 3:18 Nathan White: https://www.instagram.com/nat_bags01/ 3:39 000
