Caution - California Battered By Massive Waves


 

California is getting battered by massive waves this week... For some it's the biggest they have seen in the last 15 years. For others like Kelly Slater it was an opportunity to get some waves in places he had never surfed before. What ever the case may be for you, stay safe and watch out for each other... Check it out:

Torrential rainfall hit Southern California Thursday morning as a “bomb cyclone” delivered as expected. Rain totals exceeded 2 inches in some areas of Los Angeles County by mid-morning with higher totals in the mountains and coastal valleys of Ventura County. The National Weather Service said the storm produced up to 1.25 inches of rain per hour in some locations.




Just a day after a high surf warning was implemented for beaches along the Southern California coast, in the wake of a huge storm, strong waves returned to Redondo Beach, creating flooding concerns for many. Lauren Pozen reports.


The Seal Beach Pier was closed by the city Friday due to damage sustained during this week's storm and associated high surf and wind.
