Eat Your Vegetables (#17) Deep Thoughts About Aloneness and Existence

This segment is about eating your vegetables, well mentally. The vegetables that I'll be dishing out to you are for your own good. It's a dose of getting exposed to something that might be new to most of you, even outside of the usual surf culture. It's ok if you don't like it, but like my mom said,"at least give it a try before next Thanksgiving."

Today I'm felling a bit lost. I've been really focused on getting lots of water time in this year between surfing and  prone paddling, while still battling physical pain from past injuries, and worrying about the future. So today I'm sharing some philosophical food for thought. I'm not sure it will help, but I feel like its worth a listen. Check it out and let me know what do you think.

Discover the profound truth about spiritual awakening and relationships. In this powerful Alan Watts lecture, explore why those who awaken spiritually often find themselves with fewer friends—not from superiority, but from operating on a different frequency of consciousness. 🌟 What You'll Learn:

  • Why spiritual awakening changes your social circle
  • The difference between loneliness and divine aloneness
  • How consciousness affects human relationships
  • Why authenticity reduces friendships but deepens connections
  • The cosmic joke of seeking external validation
  • How to embrace solitude without feeling lonely

This isn't about being better than others—it's about seeing through the social games that no longer serve your awakened consciousness. Alan Watts teaches us that when you stop playing the collective dream, when you see Monday as neither good nor bad but simply IS, you naturally drift from those still hypnotized by societal constructs. Spiritual awakening means death of the ego, acceptance of what is, and living in the eternal NOW. Most friendships are built on mutual hypnosis—agreeing that success, status, and future goals matter more than present moment awareness. When you wake up, you can't participate in these illusions anymore.

Only 5% of the stuff in our universe is made up of normal matter, but that is where most of us put 100% of our focus and attention. This creates an illusion of separateness where we believe we are alone and that when our material body dies, that's the end. We even call this stuff "matter" because we believe it is all that matters. But, the other 95% of stuff in our universe is made up of energies and a mysterious dark matter, which actually govern our universe, our bodies, our experiences and our lives. This non-material universe can also be called the spiritual universe. As we tap into this spiritual dimension, we start to see how all things are connected, we see relationships, we feel energies, we sense intuition, and we discover the true nature of our mind. Todd Perelmuter takes us on a spiritual journey, from Aloneness to Oneness, where borders and barriers disappear, and open hearts and open minds take hold. It takes us to a place where anger, greed, hatred and fear cease to be, and only love, joy, peace and gratitude remain. Todd Perelmuter studied meditation and mindfulness from world-renowned teachers around the world for over 9 years. Upon his return to the States, he created EastWesticism, a nonprofit dedicated to helping everyone reach their highest potential and lead a peaceful, calm, and stress-free life.
