North Devon's surfing heritage, with Kevin Cook
Kevin “Cookie” Cook is a North Devon institution. In addition to being one of the area’s earliest, most dedicated surfers, he’s also a mainstay of the UK surf scene, the chairman of trustees at the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton, and a co-founder of the North Devon World Surfing Reserve. The Museum is a treasure trove of surfing folklore and memorabilia, as indeed is Cookie himself. As part of our series on North Devon and its newly acquired World Surfing Reserve status, we wanted to pay him a visit. Adam Hall, Surfdome's Head of Sustainability, dropped by to for a chat about the early years and surfing’s place in the local culture. Croyde Bay, Devon - Exploring the South West
This is my last video from my recent trip to Devon, I think I might have to make it an annual thing (if not more) where I find a new spot to visit. I just wish I went sooner! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/trippingcor...

Surfing Croyde Bay, baggy reef 10-09-22
This is my first attempt of filming surfers from the drone. Please excuse the jerky nature of the whole thing and the back light. I can't position the sun quite perfectly, and using my own drone didn't want to loose it in the sea, as almost taken out by a seagull. If our in the video enjoy as I enjoyed the filming.
Confronting the marine plastics crisis at the North Devon World Surfing Reserve
Plastic waste is a standard feature at almost every beach in the world these days, and the beaches of North Devon are no exception. We asked Claire Moodie, the energy and driving force behind the organisation Plastic Free North Devon, where it all comes from and how we might start to think about getting rid of it. She went for a litter-pick and a stroll with Surfdome’s head of sustainability, Adam Hall, on Croyde Bay, where they also discussed the significance of North Devon’s new World Surfing Reserve status.
