I just found these pictures of me surfing Cabrillo beach in San Pedro back on January 6th 2012. My friends Dave and Erin Soule invited me to a beach day at Cabrillo. I figured at the time that since a big west / north west swell was pushing through that Cabrillo would be a safer place to surf since it faces south and would be a little smaller there. It was over head everywhere else and when we showed up for a quick surf check at Cabrillo I was happy to see smaller shoulder to head high waves that didn't look life threatening. I brought two boards with me and paddled on on my 7'4" hybrid because that's the board that I'm most comfortable riding in larger surf. I later traded in my hybrid for one of my 6'9" mini guns, but the waves worked best on my 7'4" hybrid so I think I changed back one last time before calling it a day.
