Surfing XL Jaws (4K Raw) Black Friday Swell
Filmed on November 24, 2023 at Peahi (Jaws) on the North Shore of Maui in Hawaii. A XL swell filled in over night with waves heights being much higher than expected. Kauai buoys were reading 20ft @ 20 sec. Wave heights were topping out at around 25-35 ft at Peahi that morning. Watch as these brave surfers put on a show for us as the surf huge jaws. XXL EDDIE SIZED SWELL ROCK'S WAIMEA BAY I Raw Days
Friday Morning turned out to be a lot bigger than originally forecasted with waves estimated to be at least 40 feet cresting the North Shore by 2am at the height of this swell. Fast Forward to 7am and thousands laid eyes on what turned out to be the biggest Swell the Hawaiian Islands has seen since the last Eddie Aikau Big Wave Competition in January 2023. Thanksgiving XXL Swell at Jaws - November 24th 2023
A huge swell (21 feet at 20 seconds) hit the Hawaiian shores late on thanksgiving day. The next morning we woke up to huge and crazy conditions at Jaws. First wave of the day Kai Lenny fell on a 60 footer, then went back out for more. Albee Layer proved once again that even on the trickiest and sketchiest days out at Jaws that he can still get barreled. Less than 10 waves were paddled into during the session. Strong winds came up and it became too hard to paddle. 15 year old 'Baby' Steve Roberson got whipped into the biggest wave of the day. I'm claiming it's the biggest wave ever ridden by a 15 year old. From Matthieu Extebarne foiling to Kai Lenny taking waves on the head. There was so many crazy moments during this swell.
