Sometimes I wish I could time travel and go surf a spot back when it looked more like this... Check it out:
Wild Australia - The Original Edit
I did this a long while ago with Sean Doherty talking about some of the history I filmed back in early my years. Starting off with Bells 81 when I got my first professional gig shooting the Bells Rip Curl Pro & the Coke Surfabout at Narrabeen where Simon Anderson dominated & Dee Why Point when this kid from South Africa Martin Potter beat Mark Richards. It also features vision from the Beaurepairs competition at Sydneys Cronulla Beach with Tom Curren and a very young Mark Occhilupo. There's footage from the Stubbies, the 1983 SWELL from North Narrabeen with Tom Carroll ruling. Then to Merewether Newcastle where its good as it gets. The edit includes the definitive heat with Occy verse Curren at Bells, maybe one of the greatest heats in the ASP history. Then the Bells SKINS event where Occy won big $$$ and a car. Then we move in the future like 15/20 years ago when aerial surfing become the deal. We see Dean Morrison absolutely dominate Kirra. Kelly Slater with hair ripping Bells & Tom Carroll at the Opera House. Then moving back into the future with this new spot called Shipstern Bluff with a young Koby Abberton, Marty Paradisis and Mark Mathews. Then Michael Lowe at Mini Pipe then Slater at Deadmans in Sydney. Finishing up with some old home movie footage from my beginning in 1979/80 from my home town area of Yorke Peninsula. Enjoy.
